SESSIONS ARE ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

SEPTEMBER 17, 2016: The schedule is now as "final" as it ever gets! Which means that, yes, there will probably still be changes here and there, but generally only to resolve when we’ve accidentally placed one panelist on two panels at the same time, or if a panelist has to cancel.)

The Godzilla GoH: What's Up With Godzilla
Stan Hyde is the Chief Examiner for International Baccalaureate film in his professional life. As a fan he has been involved in fandom since the Torcon 2 Worldcon in 1973.  He also travels the world in search of Giant Monsters.  Besides writing articles on film (and also a published comic story and some short fiction), Stan has been a part of Godzilla fandom for years and is one of the planning members of G-FEST convention.  This annual celebration of Godzilla and Japanese science-fiction films in general has been held in Chicago every summer, for the past 23 years. Last summer he planned a tour for North American fans to go to Tokyo to see SHIN GODZILLA, the newest Japanese Godzilla film.

Join Stan for a reflection on fandom in general, Godzilla fandom in particular, and for some updates on his favourite international star . . . now the subject of two franchises, in both North American and Japan.
